The BikeBiz Awards 2013 take place
Wednesday September 25th – the night before Cycle Show’s trade day – at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham.

You lobbied us with the names of those who you thought deserved singling out for praise in the cycle industry. So, without further ado, here are your Finalists for 2013...
INDEPENDENT RETAILER
PEARSONS CYCLES London’s Pearsons Cycles, amongst the very oldest bike shops operating in the UK, runs open evenings, sportives and even fits in some advocacy work between retailing bikes.
RUTLAND CYCLING Rutland is a regular finalist here, and there’s a number of reasons why, from hosting Cycletta rides, running free weekly rides, working with schools, free maintenance
talks...the list goes on.
SIGMA SPORT Undoubtedly, Sigma is shorthand for ‘top notch cycle retail’ in the UK trade, with quality, un- snobby service, support for the local community and a high end-store experience.
SOURCE BMX Based in a former church, Source is known around the country as a haven (or is that heaven?) for BMX. It has its own indoor skate park and backs a number of grass roots riders.
STIF CYCLES
“Mountain biking cave of wonders” STIF has a huge showroom at its newish home in Summerbridge, Harrogate that has seen it considerably expand its bikes and clothing lines.
VELORUTION Velorution was saved from the brink last year by Bike Republic. The well regarded store is well known for its passionate staffers, ‘embracing the highest standards’ and encouraging folk into cycling through stylish ranges.
Rutland Cycling SPECIALIST RETAILER
ALWAYS RIDING The well organised site has a sly sense of humour and personal touch, one punter said, and they don’t compete by price slashing either. A ‘pleasure to do business with’, we were told.
CHAIN REACTION CYCLES The Northern Irish bicycle retailer has near on conquered the cycle retail world. Less well known is its support for NI’s first national trail centre, its video games and multiple award wins.
CYCLE SURGERY Another award winner, Cycle Surgery was one of the first retailers to offer free women-only evenings. The store empire recently opened into Fulham, Southwark and Gateshead.
EVANS CYCLES With a strong heritage dating back to 1921, Evans has a mantra of inspiring and enabling people to get more joy from cycling. To that end it runs in-store events, organised rides, training and a great trade-in offering.
GIANT STORES For 18 months Giant has offered an online store to compete with the big players, directing business to its retailers, boasting finance, a cycle to work offering and more.
WIGGLE
The big hitting online retailer is also a keen backer of grass roots events and this year put its money where its mouth is by backing the winning Wiggle Honda women’s team.
