CAMPER CONTENTMENT BY ALAN ORBELL The camper van HQ at Christchurch Airport was packed with vehicles large and small and we wondered, with the merest hint of trepidation, which size would be ours. A video showed how all the many services worked and then we were shown to our Britz vehicle; mid-size and certainly not at all daunting. At our first overnight stop,

our confidence evaporated a little when we discovered there was no sweet old-fashioned handbook, just to double check. But, once parked up and plugged into water and electricity, either it came flooding back, was blindingly obvious or worked after just a little trial and error. Whichever, it was certainly a fun evening. We cooked a meal, washed the dishes, skipped the TV, saved a shower for the morning, made up the beds and slept like babes.
