Simply because it is

an outstanding island paradise with picture-postcard beaches, 50% of its land mass given over to nature reserves and an ever-expanding range of accommodation on 16 of the islands from self-catering and Creole guest houses through to fi ve-star hotels and exclusive island retreats such as North Island, where Prince William and Kate spent their honeymoon. What’s more, selling Seychelles packages means signifi cant commission for agents.

sell what? Some may stay put in

one island resort (usually one resort per island) but it’ll be a missed opportunity not to see at least some of the other islands, if only the main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, linked by ferry and Mahe/Praslin fl ights. Island hopping is popular for sailing afi cionados and with the array of indirect fl ights, particularly via the UAE, two-centre holidays with Abu Dhabi and Dubai are becoming popular. Kenya Airways’ links with Seychelles makes safari and beach two-centres a good option.

who to?

In such a romantic

destination, the Seychelles is as good

Seychelles' beaches are simply unsurpassed

“Don't stay put on one island resort... try to see some of the other islands, like Mahe, Praslin and La Digue”

as it gets for weddings (remember though that religious weddings must be preceded by a civil wedding) and honeymoons and most hotels and resorts have special offers such as free weddings and discounted stays for the bride and groom or guests. The islands are ideal for couples and there’s lots for families too. Loads of non-motorised watersports (motorised are only available at Beau Vallon Bay on Mahe), kids’ clubs and wildlife like the world’s smallest frog and the heaviest tortoise. Constance Lemuria on Praslin has an 18-hole golf course and there’s also horse riding, fi shing and diving.
