DRINKS, FOOD AND PRODUCTS What’s New Speedy dishwashing
With the capability of washing 100 baskets an hour, the new double- width hood combi-dishwasher from Wexiödisk is ideal for heavy-duty school kitchens.
The WD-12 model allows for two standard 500x500mm baskets to be loaded side by side and combines some of the features already found on the smaller WD-6 Duplus single hood warewasher. This includes an automatic hood, which senses when a load is in place before closing and
initiating the cycle. Once completed, the hood lifts to allow the drying process to commence immediately, resulting in smear-free crockery and cutlery.
Other features allow users to change the product from a dishwasher to a utensil washer simply by lifting a lever, with the innovative in-built rack allowing for utensils to be placed directly into the machine.

Soya looking for good curry?
Steaming ahead with new chicken products
A juicy selling point
Nisbets has become the UK’s exclusive supplier of the world-famous Zummo juicer range. Now, school caterers can add a touch of theatre to the dining room by stocking these innovative machines.
The Zummo juicers are unique in the way they extract the juice from the orange. The patented design cuts the fruit in half, preventing the juice from coming into contact with the peel, eliminating bitter oils and acidity. The juicers can also be used for most citrus fruits, not just oranges.
Caterers can choose from a variety of juices of different sizes depending on the counter space and expected customer demand. Three models are featured in the Nisbets catalogue and two are available exclusively online.

Love Joes Foodservice Soya Balti – supplied frozen in a 2.5kg tub – combines spicy soya mince in a Balti curry sauce with tomatoes, onions, chilli and garlic, and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Whether used in a wrap or a simple curry, it fits the bill for caterers who want to create an exotic and tasty offering for their meat-free diners that also meets school food standards. The soya’s neutral taste, along with the fact it absorbs flavours well, makes it perfect for a host of dishes.
“We provide a mixed protein and sauce product that is cooked in the ovens and a free bag of saffron pre-cooked rice that is heated and mixed with the soya mince and sauce to create a delicious filling. It’s a great grab and go solution for busy meat-free consumers, offering caterers a real point of difference on their menus,” says Toni Koumi, operations manager for Love Joes.

Our succulent new chicken products give caterers so much scope to maximise the potential of this popular white meat.”
