TRANSFORMING A SCHOOL’S FOOD CULTURE – AND WINNING A ROYAL SEAL OF APPROVAL Simon Barber, principal and Jenny Gaylor, vice principal, Carshalton Boys Sports College In November 2012, Carshalton Boys Sports College achieved a glowing review of its school catering service from Giles Coren, Restaurant Critic for The Times, followed in December by a visit from HRH the Prince of Wales and Jamie Oliver to celebrate the school’s achievements in transforming their school food culture including growing their own produce. GRANDE FINALE ADDRESS Katherine Grainger, Olympic Gold medalist at London 2012 and Greg Nugent, Director of Branding, Marketing and Culture at the London 2012 Games and Paralympic Games We will hear first from Greg Nugent, who headed up the branding and marketing teams at the Games and developed the concept of the Gamesmakers. Greg will be giving a very different take on the Olympics and outlining the background planning that went into creating a unique team of very diverse individuals who were world acclaimed for helping to make the London Olympics so special. Gold medallist Katherine Grainger will outline the challenges she faced as a then three time Silver Medallist endeavouring to take her last shot at a Gold Medal, as well as her feelings when she triumphed at London 2012. Silver medals from Sydney in 2000, Athens in 2004, and Beijing in 2008, as well as six world championship titles in her collection, Katherine is Britain’s most successful female rower. After the presentations, delegates will have a chance to put questions to both Katherine and Greg.
