Our auspicious beginning occurred back in 1886 when a small proprietary foundry and machine shop operation, used to produce parts for the owner’s cotton gin, was sold to three local businessmen and was renamed “The Corsicana Manufacturing Company.” In 1898 the plant was leased to an individual who renamed it “The Oil City Iron Works” because the area was in the midst of an oil boom, and in 1965 the company was purchased by the Meyers family that continues to own and operate this thriving business today. The early products consisted of parts for cotton gins, brick presses and castings for the building industry, which paused briefly during World War II to support our country’s defense efforts. As the importance of domestic cotton began to decline following the war, we reoriented our operation toward providing castings for oilfield equipment. By 1960, Oil City Iron Works, Inc. had become a pioneer in this area introducing and developing certain applications for ductile iron. Since 1985, Oil City Iron Works has ex- panded significantly and has diversified its products into lines such as valves, pumps, power generation, gas turbine and compres- sion parts, mining equipment, as well as gen- eral oilfield equipment. Oil City Iron Works, Inc. is a 100% jobbing shop all “Made in the USA” with over 7,000 active patterns. Our Foundry is diverse enough to of- fer molding capacity for castings from 1/3
pound up to 8,000 pounds. Our Dual Track Electric Induction Furnaces are flexible enough that we can melt several different melt types concurrently, and meet daily pro- duction demands for up to 120,000 pounds of castings. Our value added services are extensive enough to cover your project from its blueprint beginning in our Pattern Shop through to a finished machined part in our CNC Machine Shop all under our ISO 9001:2008 Certification.
