Farrar offers comprehensive facilities combin- ing all the services of a machine shop and a ductile iron foundry. This unique combination works well for customers looking to maximize effi ciency and minimize cost of manufacturing. Versatility and vertical integration are the Farrar keys to effi ciency and customer satisfaction— we can help you design a part, build patterns and fi xtures, pour castings and machine them to a fi nished product, all within one company. The goal of the Farrar Corporation is to provide solutions. We do not just pour cast-
ings—we provide turnkey casting solutions. We have the ability to take a solid model, analyze the solidifi cation properties, machine a pattern, mount it on an in-house molding line, pour the casting, machine it, paint it and assemble a working component. We also maintain a hands-on approach to each manufactured product from start to fi nish, assuring a level of quality and accountability that is not available in a multi-level supply chain. This is the Farrar Advantage. The company’s 75 customers serve a variety of end-use markets including valves, pumps, energy, lawn and turf, bridge, construction equipment, mining, marine and high perfor- mance vehicles.
For any casting buyer who is looking to enhance the bottom line by streamlining their processes, Farrar Corporation is a great fi rst step.
SHIFT FORK—Farrar made the pattern, casts it in ductile iron, has it austempered and performs the machining. It is used in heavy truck applications.
TORQUE PLATE—Poured from 100-70-03 ductile iron, Farrar casts, machines and paints the plate. 63 parts are made from the same six castings. The torque plate is used in heavy truck and high performance brake applications.
REAR END HOUSING ASSEMBLY— Farrar made the patterns, pours the cast- ings, machines the three castings and performs the assembly. The component includes one ductile iron casting, two steel castings and two bearings (outsourced). The piece is a rear end differential housing for a racecar.
