Charlotte offers the flexibility of various molding machines, in- cluding 2013 “B” size Disamatics, Roberts Sinto FBO III and Herman au- tomated cope and drag. Add to that our capac- ity to produce shell or cold box cores to match any casting design, and the many possibilities available with Charlotte become very evident. A modern in-house pattern shop ensures seamless tooling development, whether our customers have existing equipment requiring up-fit or if they are starting from a draw- ing with a solid model. A Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is used to verify dimensional ac- curacy of both finished castings and tooling. Charlotte maintains a competitive advantage on the casting produc- tion side by using a 70-ton-per-hour melting facility and automatic pouring, as well as coor- dinated hot metal transfer

throughout the shop. Iron quality is monitored through spectrographic analysis, tensile and hardness testing and metallographic analysis. Charlotte employs SAP enterprise software to effectively manage orders from beginning to end. Our internal procedures are guided by the ISO system developed and initiated in 2001, along with the “5S” pillar of lean manufacturing. Charlotte is currently certified to ISO 9001:2008.
