Buck Company Inc. is the only domestic jobbing shop pour- ing medium to long running sand castings in Aluminum Alloys, Brass and Bronze, as well as Ductile, Gray and Malleable Iron, in two separate found- ries located under one roof.

Buck’s castings can be found in indus- tries including: Rail- road, Agricultural, High Voltage Electric, Automotive, Mining, Pumps & Valves, and many others. From new de- signs to new tooling for existing castings, and even converting fabrications to cast- ings, Buck’s solidifica- tion software, pattern making services and CMM capabilities can ensure each tool will efficiently produce
castings to the customer’s specifications. One centrally located core room pro- duces Laempe, Palmer, Redford and Har- rison cores for both foundries. All molds produced at Buck are green sand and hori- zontally parted. The Non-Ferrous Foundry’s automatic molding machines consist of 14X19 Hunters, a 20X24 Disamatic 130, a Jolt-Squeeze-Pin Lift cope and drag machine and one side floor for larger castings. The Ferrous Foundry’s automatic molding ma- chines are 16x20 B&Ps, 14x19 and 20x24 Hunters, a 16x20 Sinto and a Jolt-Pin-Lift cope and drag machine with flask sizes of 20x25, 20x40, 18x32 and 18x36. delivered to a state of the art metallurgical lab and analyzed by the use of a computer controlled spectrometer capable of analyz- ing both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals. Brinnell hardness testing is performed on castings as needed. All alloys, both ferrous and non ferrous can be certified if requested.
Buck has adopted Lean Manufacturing
and TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) as a way to efficiently process castings once they are molded. The Team Approach, which is highly valued at Buck, is used during the completion of Value Stream Maps, through the Kaizen Process and the development of Standard Work. Buck’s commitment and dedication to Continuous Improvement is second to none. For a complete, turn-key product, Buck
offers machining, painting, plating, and galvanizing services performed by affiliated vendors.
