2013 Metalcaster ProsPectus A&B Foundry and Machining

A mainstay in the casting industry, A&B Foundry and Machining was established in 1948, and since opening its doors has been providing the industry with quality, afford- able castings by blending the most efficient technologies and equipment. A&B’s specialties are large aluminum cast-

ings through the use of processes and tech- nology such as V-process, air set, and green sand. The V-process line is a difference maker for A&B. One of only a handful in operation in the U.S., V-process is a unique vacuum molding technology that allows metalcasters to pour zero draft castings with exceptional surface finishes and inexpensive tooling. This inexpensive tooling allows it to become an option for low production runs and prototype components. Zero draft appeals to designers that like the 90-degree angles of fabrications. Although A&B has evolved to be mainly an aluminum foundry, A&B also has the capability to produce brass and bronze castings. A & B

serves a wide range of industries, produc- ing castings for use in aerospace, military & defense, motors, machine tools, robotics, medical equipment, cyrogenic pumps, archi- tectural and numerous other applications. As a fully integrated operation, A&B has substantial resources to design, engineer, manufacture, machine and test castings. A&B’s human resources consist of 49 expe- rienced employees, dedicated to producing the industry’s finest castings. The combined facilities consist of 85,000 square feet. A&B has substantial resources of machinery and equipment for making patterns, melting, casting, finishing, and testing. A&B offers inspection , liquid penetrant, x-ray, metallurgical analysis and testing, and can achieve necessary certifications. This year, in addition to maintaining the ISO 9001:2008 and Bureau Veritas certifica- tions, A&B obtained its Lloyds Register and AS9100:Rev C Certifications.
