Waterfront wishes Raffl es a happy 125th Birthday and invites you to crush some peanuts, sip a cocktail and join in on the celebrations in this legendary resort!
Celebrating their 125th Birthday is the multi award-winning and world renowned Raffl es Hotel in Singapore, an establishment that has been providing the very best that luxury has to off er since it fi rst opened its doors in 1887. Named after Sir Stamford Raffl es, the founder of Singapore, the hotel has lived up to the prestige of its name over the years, playing host to business tycoons, politicians, movie stars, authors and journalists. Amongst some of its most notable guests are writers Somerset Maugham, Rudyard Kipling and Noel Coward. In celebration of the 125th Birthday, my partner and I were invited to experience this important milestone in the hotel’s history and it certainly did not disappoint. Our arrival at Singapore station was where our luxurious day began as we were collected in the hotel’s private Bentley. With its rich history and very grand, distinguishable front façade, expectations were high when we pulled up to the hotel and it certainly met ,if not exceeded, our expectations. We were greeted with a beautiful arrangement of fl owers from the Raffl es doormen and our host Annie who made us feel very welcome. After this, we entered the grand reception area which was truly breath-taking and provided a taster of what was to come. From here we were shown to our exquisite suite, which overlooked

In addition to this, we were treated to a complimentary bottle of champagne, provided to celebrate the hotel’s 125 years, which went down very well. Taking advantage of what Raffl es had to off er, I had one of their wonderfully soothing luxury spa treatments, having a massage at the hands of one of the hotel’s gifted spa therapists and unwinding in a hot Jacuzzi bath – a must-have treatment in the city. Feeling refreshed from our tiring journey and ready for the rest of the day, my partner and I were invited to dinner at the Raffl es Grill by our wonderful host Annie. At dinner, we were given the chef ’s choice of the taster menu, which hosted several delicious courses of French cuisine, accompanied by personally selected wines. Indulging on the delectable cuisine, we had a perfect evening, made all the more special by the wonderful service provided by the Raffl es team as their etiquette and quick service made for a spectacular evening. At the end of the day, we returned to our suite and settled down into the cosiness of our bed. Awaking in the morning, we sadly checked out but had a last chance to enjoy some of the
