arilyn Monroe made some witty observations in her time and this one is timeless, “the relationship between women and shoes can


plausibly be described as the longest love aff air of all time”. Somehow, the right pair of shoes has the ability to make us feel confi dent or, if they’ve been designed by Kobi Levi, to make us laugh! Kobi started making shoe designs in high school and in 2001 he studied at and graduated from the Bezalel academy of art & design in Jerusalem. After this, he started to work in the footwear industry as a freelance designer. In his own time, he created designs for unique shoe styles and in 2010 he uploaded them to a blog. Suddenly, the world knew about Kobi Levi! “I had no idea that the blog would take off


the way that it did,” Kobi admits. “My initial intention when the blog was opened was to be

able to show pictures of the shoes to my friends without having to send them heavy e-mails” . Soon, however, Kobi’s blog took on a life of its own. “It really surprised me because the fi rst designs were made in my home kitchen for my own pleasure,” he explains. “I never expected them to become known worldwide”. But that is exactly what happened. T e designs were so successful that Lady Gaga used his Double Boot design in her ‘Born this Way’ music video! Kobi’s inbox was fl ooded with requests from would- be buyers and
