#7, Carson City, NV 89701-1420, is selling HO scale American Steel Foundries A-3 70-ton trucks. These have a 5′-8″ wheelbase and were a com- mon friction bearing truck used from the mid-1940’s to the mid-1960’s on three-bay hoppers, mill gons and some flat cars on many Class 1 railroads. The Tahoe ASF A-3 trucks come with a one- piece black acetal molding sideframe with separate brake shoe detail and non-magnetic, insulated metal RP-25 wheels. The 70-ton A-3 truck with either the usual RP25 HO wheelsets or the narrower-tread code 88 semi-scale wheelsets is $7.25 per pair. Also new is the five-foot wheelbase arch bar truck. Originally built for the Union Tank Line, the prototype had 20-ton capacity journals and brake shoes that were hung from the truck.
