BetClic’s motives
BetClic’s Stuart McCarthy has explained why his firm has cho- sen Quickfire, powered by Mi- crogaming. “The high volume of innovative games rolled out to players was one of the reasons. It was a natural choice for a fast, friendly and modern opera- tor like our-
selves.” Eurofootball deal
Eurofootball Ltd has also cho- sen the Quickfire platform. Quick- Fire spokesperson Ashley Sandyford-Sykes said: “We be- lieve that this venture will be fruit- ful as our first-class content will hopefully attract new players as well as satisfy existing ones.”
SLOTS
Net Ent arms up with
A sequel to one of Net Entertainment’s most popular and distinctive games has hit the market, but with a few spicy twists in gameplay.
O
nline casino games developer Net Entertainmenthas re- leased its latest video slot, Jack Hammer 2: Fishy Business,
the follow-up to the hugely popular Jack Hammer. The main character returns in a new slot that features an impressive 99 bet lines, and a seperate Free Spins game. The popular Sticky Win feature from the origi- nal game remains and Random Wilds dur- ing Free Spins bring a new addition to the game play. The game features the same cartoon-
like graphics and retro animations as the original while the characters continue their adventures among the glamorous and grit- ty underworld. “Given the popularity of Jack Hammer, it
was logical to ask the developers to work on a sequel,” commented Per Eriksson,
president and CEO of Net Entertainment. “Jack Hammer 2: Fishy Business is a wor- thy follow-up and new developments such as the Random Wild gameplay suggest it’s going to be a hugely popular game with our partners and players.”
The company has just announced that
its revenues for the first six months of the year increased by a third to SEK259.5m (£24.7m), with an improving operating mar- gin of 30.7 per cent and profit after tax reaching SEK71.4m (£6.8m), an increase of 46 per cent on the same period in 2011. The company said that the increase in
the second quarter was mainly derived from increased volumes which are primari- ly driven by existing customers’ growth and new customer agreements. The amount of set-up fees for the quarter also contributed positively to the revenue increase. During
the second quarter Net Entertainment also signed agreements with five new cus- tomers and another two deals with existing customers for the Danish market and one agreement for the Italian market. Eriksson commented: “In order to give
the company additional prerequisites to act swift and effectively on a dynamic mar- ket a reorganisation was carried out during the second quarter. The purpose of the changes was primarily to make the deci- sion making process more effective through a flatter organisational hierarchy and meant that certain management posi- tions were eliminated, such as the CTO.” Eriksson was pleased at the progress
being made by the firm’s relatively new Net Entertainment Touch, which has seen mo- bile and tablet versions of some of the company’s favourite games.
“The launch of mobile games has been successful and we see a strong growth within this area, however from low levels as launch took place in December 2011. There is a high interest on the market and the company has signed a total of 17 contracts since launch, of which eleven are live. Dur- ing the quarter, development of mobile games for android units continued and we have now launched two customers.” Eriksson also has big plans for Italy
when there is further deregulation in the market at the end of the year: “The Italian market has continued to perform posi- tively and the Italian gaming authority AAMShas announced that slot games on- line will be allowed in Italy from December 2012. Net Entertainment will initially launch a selection of slot games when the market opens.”
