The Weir Group was honoured to receive The President’s Award from Scottish Engineering for its contribution to the engineering profession and to the Scottish economy, including collaboration with the University of Strathclyde on the Weir Advanced Research Centre. The award was presented by The Rt
Hon Michael Moore MP, Secretary of State for Scotland, at Scottish Engineering’s annual awards dinner in Glasgow. The award was received on behalf of
Weir by Graeme Kentley, general manager, Weir Services Europe, and Luke Logan, Power & Industrial’s divisional engineering director.
highly regarded by high-ranking submarine offi cers, received an award from Admiral Madison, Chief of Maritime Staff of the Royal Canadian Navy, at a ceremony in Ottawa for Naval personnel and Public Service Civilians.
Admiral Madison said, “Peter
is commended for his exceptional dedication, outstanding professionalism and extraordinary capacity to deliver technical support for the Victoria class submarines. In particular, he is to be commended for the extensive support and technical leadership he provided during the HMCS Victoria and Windsor Extended Docking Work Periods. His knowledge, devotion to duty and vision were key factors in class risk reduction, technical development and engineering support activities.”
