Screens order for Weir Minerals Africa

Anglo Coal placed a substantial order with Weir Minerals Africa for a number of horizontal, single and double deck screens for installation at its coal handling processing plant in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The screens will replace older units due for replacement as a result of erosion. Weir Minerals Africa’s Winchester Maphosa said, “The screens are robust and designed to maximise machine availability. They are

ideal wherever linear motion screens are required. Although this is well established technology, Weir Minerals Africa is committed to researching continuous improvements in design and performance with the global design centre of origin for screens located in South Africa.” The screens are suitable for sizing applications, dense media recovery and dewatering in coal handling plants. They

also serve the hard rock industry in similar applications, including, sizing, de-sliming, grading and scalping. The screens, in various sizes from 1.8 to 3.6

metres wide, are being supplied with stainless steel deck frames and stringers for corrosion protection. They are currently in production at the company’s Alrode factory and will be supplied via Weir Minerals Africa’s Middelburg branch.

Success Down Under for Weir SPM

A major energy company, now a player in the hydraulic fracturing market in Australia, has selected Weir SPM to supply well service pumps and flow control products. The company selected SPM’s QWS 2500 Super Duty frac pumps to be built on trucks manufactured in the US, totalling 14 units. In addition, the company is also using the Weir Oil & Gas team to jointly

develop with Weir Minerals Multiflo a specialised manifold trailer which will be deployed during their hydraulic fracturing operations. This represents a fantastic opportunity to have two Weir Group divisions collaborating to add value to Weir Oil & Gas customers in Australia. Weir SPM also received a sizeable order for flow control equipment as part of this activity.
