Weir continues to appoint quality people to join its divisions across the world
French safety valve team strengthened with new appointments
The safety valve business in northern France recently made some key appointments to strengthen its team. Stephane Delattre has been appointed as business development manager, responsible for the development of products in Russia, Eastern Europe and the Americas. Stephane previously held the position of inside sales manager and has worked in the pressure relief valves market for 20 years including 10 years with Weir. Christophe Cottet-Emard has been appointed as plant manager at the facility in northern France which produces the Sarasin- RSBD range of safety valves. Christophe has worked with Weir for 25 years. His previous role was plant manager of the SEBIM safety valve facility in the south of France. Christophe is looking forward to driving growth through the Sarasin-RSBD plant. Luís Gomez has been appointed project
manager, responsible for the transfer of Sarasin-RSBD technology to Weir BDK’s facility in Hubli, India. Luis will work closely with Weir BDK to ensure the product transfer is fully achieved on spring loaded safety relief valves, ensuring that Sarasin-RSBD manufacturing procedures are applied and quality standards are fully met, allowing Hubli-manufactured products to be accepted onto vendor approval lists.
Peter Marsh has been appointed as general manager for sales at Weir Arabian Metals Company (Saudi Arabia). Peter has over 15 years of professional sales experience plus 10 years as a qualifi ed engineer. His experience includes 7 years in the Middle East as a senior manager in addition to time in Africa, Europe and Russia in engineering sales. His experience covers the upstream and downstream oil and gas market. Peter has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Instrumentation, from Glasgow University.
Balaji Swaminathan joined Weir Minerals North America as vice-president of product marketing in May. Prior to joining Weir Minerals, Balaji spent seven years with Briggs & Stratton, Milwaukee, Wisconsin with the last three years on assignment in Dubai as regional director of Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. During this period of time, Balaji has demonstrated a successful track record of leading the business in geographic growth efforts for new markets, executing brand and product strategy development and managing cross functional teams of global and regional product managers. Balaji is a qualifi ed engineer and holds an MBA from Western Michigan University.
Syed Junaid has been appointed as fi nance manager of Weir Arabian Metals Company (Saudi Arabia). Syed has over 14 years of professional experience, previously serving as a manager in a big four audit fi rm. His experience includes fi nancial audits in the service, engineering, construction, chemicals, fi nancial sectors and three years in the power generation business. Syed is a member of the Association of Chartered Certifi ed Accountants.
