Mattel welcomes a trio of recruits to its marketing team, Chicco looks to develop its toy business with a new hire, Green Board Games appoints a new Chief Executive, B Kids introduces its sales agent team and Liz O’Shea steps up at Vogue...
Mattel has made three new
appointments to its marketing team as it continues to shift focus from toys to brand franchises. Anne-Sophie Mathieu (top left) has joined as assistant brand manager, Girls Inc. Mathieu has worked across a number of FMCG brands including Ben & Jerry’s and
Gatorade. Most recently, she worked as junior brand manager on Sunny
Delight in France where her remit included market research, in-store implementation and TV advertising. Joining the boys marketing team as assistant brand manager, wheels, is Tess Parsons (centre). Parsons joins from Vivid Imaginations where she worked across key girls and pre-school brands and was responsible for taking products from concept to launch and helping develop marketing campaigns. Heather Saxby (bottom left) joins
pre-school brand Fisher-Price as marketing associate in a newly transitioned role from LG Electronics. Mattel’s director of marketing, Jenny Watson, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Anne-Sophie, Tess and Heather to Mattel UK. These appointments build on what is already a strong marketing team and set us up for continued success in 2012 and beyond.”
Bigjigs has made two new additions to its team. George Poole (pictured left) joins as marketing and PR coordinator, while Hayley Attwell (pictured right) joins as customer liaison officer. Poole joins Bigjigs Toys marketing department having worked both client and agency side for Chocolate Delight and Publicist respectively. PR man Poole commented: “This is
an exciting time for Bigjigs Toys, and with such a wide array of fantastic brands and products, I am delighted to be onboard.” Attwell joins Bigjigs Toys from Keel
Toys, where she worked in the customer service department alongside the sales representative for the Midlands area.
Operations manager Sam Ireland,
said: “They are going to be great additions to the Bigjigs Family as we move forward in 2012 and beyond.”

Mitch Levene, managing director of Chicco’s parent company Artsana, commented: “Lene is the fourth high profile addition to our sales and marketing functions during the past few months and she brings with her an enormous amount of experience and array of skills.”
Coiledspring Games has taken on Martin Pike Agencies as sales agent for the South West and Brian Sage for the North.
Stephen Woodman, head of sales at Coiledspring Games, commented: “We asked our customers who they would recommend as our agents. Martin and Brian were
overwhelmingly respected favourites.”
Vogue has promoted Liz O’Shea to senior account manager.
The promotion is in recognition of
O’Shea’s hard work and excellent sales since joining the licensed character housewares manufacturer at the end of 2010 from Hy-Pro International. David Pannett, UK sales manager for the company, commented: “Liz has proven herself to be a great asset to the company, consistently bringing in a high level of sales and margin contribution though a combination of top class account management skills and experience, allied to a great
deal of hard work, long hours and total commitment.” O’Shea added: “I look forward to working with my customers to consolidate successful ranges and work on new projects for incremental sales.”
Green Board Games has hired Keith Grafham as chief executive to spearhead its major expansion plans. The new recruit has
a product design background, but spent most of his career providing strategic development solutions to a number of companies at director level. He has a track record of launching and developing new and unique products, particularly within the leisure industry.
Grafham said: “I have a passion for seeing people develop through fun and learning so can’t wait to get stuck into my new role at The Green Board Game Co. They have an outstanding product range, a great proposition and a brilliant reputation.” Current MD and founder, Gary
Wyatt, who is moving to chairman, commented: “We have a fantastic range of products and a fabulous business. Now is the right time to bring in talent to build on the progress of recent years.”
DKL has extended its partnership with Martin Pike Agencies.
The agents will now represent
Wonderworld Wooden Toys in the South West region. Martin and Karen already represent other DKL brands, Hama, Corolle, Miniland and Velcro.
