Workflow, loudness and processing control

DEVELOPMENTS TO its Cortex broadcast workflow control software application, new loudness control solutions and a cost-effective variant of its Synapse AV signal processing modules will form the heart of Axon’s showcase. Making its debut at NAB, the
latest version of Axon’s Cortex software provides tools to configure, monitor and maintain devices. Consequently, users take control over multiple routines involving numerous users, enabling them to
configure workflows to meet specific production needs. The new Tally and Mnemonic options provide a user to interface for signal processing and routing equipment using native protocols and/or GPI units in order to operate various display and tally devices. New to NAB, Axon’s single form factor cards
can be integrated to work with each other to provide loudness control solutions. Axon will showcase two Loudness Control packages that are developed to the USA’s FCC CALM ACT requirements. The company will also
introduce new Synapse modules including a long time HD/ SD-SDI uncompressed video delay. It can store and delay up to one hour of SD material including all blanking as RAW data. The unit can be used for +1 hour broadcasts or for profanity checks. N4624
control robotic cameras and picture-in-picture (PiP) box sizing, while new layering controls simplify placing content into key layers and moving them front to back. There are also new switcher transition controls and enhanced controls for selecting the built-in clip store, animation stores, and Harris or Chyron graphics system. The new virtual set software
enables up to eight cameras to have virtual backgrounds plus three key layers on top for PiP, titles, and animated logos. The built-in image editor can crop and blur any image to simulate
depth of field. Video Control Center 3.0 also supports VOX, the new voice-activated video production option that eliminates the need for an operator for some live productions. Also new for Video Control Center 3.0 is support for Fluent Rapid CG 2, Broadcast Pix’s software that automatically integrates databases, RSS feeds, and custom action buttons into templates to streamline the creation of data-intensive CG graphics. Fluent Rapid CG 2 delivers faster updates including clocks by the second, offers dual-channel capabilities to update two different on-air graphics at once and supports EZNews news titles. SL6424
