GREEN HIGHLIGHTS
A Design modules with simple, even dimensions and central bearing points allow for easy expansion or reduction of the floor plan—now or later.
B The designer recommends 6” SIP exterior walls to enhance energy performance.
C Inside, the designer suggests “Air Renew” drywall to enhance indoor air quality.
D The south facing rear roof allows for partial concealment of both PV and water-heating panels.
E Cupola can contain either a vertical axis wind turbine or a wind finder (which automatically rotates to direct air flow throughout the home).
F The two-car garage roof is designed to support a turf-mat made up of 20” grass-filled tiles irrigated with a hidden roof cistern. Shown here as a golf putting green, it could also be used as a green roof garden space.
G The design includes a rainwater capture and storage system.
H Energy Star appliances and water saving fixtures are recommended.
