E3 REVIEW

RESIDENT EVIL 6 Publisher: Capcom Developer: Capcom Released:

October 2nd, 2012 Formats: 360, PS3, PC

What they say:

“The developer has almost over-delivered, with three storylines offering something unique to fans. I think we’re going to satisfy the largest audience to date with this game.” Michael Pattison, Capcom

DISHONORED Publisher: Bethesda Developer: Arkane Studios Released:

October 12th, 2012 Formats: PS3, 360, PC

What they say:

“When there is a new IP people tend to want to define it. People will think it is a mix of this game with this game. But it is not. It is a new game. It is its own thing.” Raphaël Colantonio, Arkane Studios

STAR WARS 1313 Publisher: Activision Developer: LucasArts Released: TBA Formats: TBA

What they say: “Star Wars 1313dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit.”

Paul Meegan, LucasArts

LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER Publisher: Nintendo Developer: TT Fusion Released: TBA Formats: Wii U

What they say:

“LEGO City Undercoveremploys the Wii U Game Pad as a multi-purpose crime fighting tool. And it is the key to both exploration and competing missions.” Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo

What the press says: “All of Traveller’s Tales’ trademarks are in place. This is the sort of game that could prove a system seller to the millions who’ve been on board since Lego Star Wars.”

Edge

What MCV says: It may not be a Nintendo-developed game, but it certainly feels like one. LEGO City promises the sort of depth Nintendo has promised for Wii U, and was a refreshing change from the violent titles at E3. CD

What the press says:

“The mechanics it so obviously borrows look like they’ll work great for providing a framework for some of the most visually dazzling Star Warsscenes ever.”

IGN

What MCV says: 1313finally mixes game tech with special effects graphics, which is what LucasArts has always wanted to do. This may well be the game that saves LucasArts from the dark side. MF

What the press says: “The buzz for games like Watch Dogs and Dishonoredonly confirms the suspicion that gamers are crying out for different kinds of experiences.”

Computerandvideogames

What MCV says: This is the next BioShock. It blends story, location, and action really well. It is built by some of gaming’s most creative minds, so it would be a surprise if this game isn’t one of the best titles out this October. MF

What the press says: “Resident Evil 6continues to evolve the series in new and unexpected directions. It’s spooky and unnerving, but one can’t argue that it isn’t exciting.”

Eurogamer What MCV says:

The three E3 demos showed us three distinct gameplay styles – from creepy horror to all-out action. Based on what we’ve seen, it’s likely to appeal to fans of RE4, RE5and maybe even Uncharted. CD
