What’s it about? Starring Taylor Kitsch in the title role, this Disney film is an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrow’s novel Princess of Mars.
An American Civil War veteran is transported to Mars, where the change in gravity makes him appear stronger and able to jump great heights. But these abilities mean Carter soon finds himself in the middle of an alien conflict. he film also stars Lynn Collins, Willem Dafoe and Samantha Morton. It is directed by Andrew Stanton.
Stanton? Should I have heard of him? Almost certainly. Stanton is best known for directing A Bugs Life, Finding Nemo andWALL-E. He also co-wrote Monsters Incand the Toy
Storytrilogy. This a chance for film buffs to find out if Stanton’s first venture into live action films deserved the disappointing reception it recieved at the box office.
