MCV talks to Jon Rhodes, creative director and owner of Insert Coin, the UK clothing firm with a unique take on gaming apparel
What is Insert Coin Clothing? Insert Coin is a video games- inspired clothing company that let’s people get their geek on in style. It’s all about representing your favourite game in a way that other gamers will
appreciate too – a subtle, stylish and original approach to gamerwear.
What has been your biggest achievement so far this year? It’s been a huge year for us, in terms of growth and brand recognition. We were hugely proud of working with Eurogamer at their 2011 expo and for receiving our first nomination in this year’s MCV Awards. This year was all about our Assassin’s Creed range though, particularly our Monteriggioni hoodie. It was such a huge success for us and really showcased everything we can do.

Do you have anything big planned for the near future? We have a reputation for being ‘teases’ with our online community, but we do have some genuinely huge things in the pipeline. We have several big announcements to make with regard to collaborations and we’re hoping to unveil a lot more designs before the end of the year too – watch this space.
Where do you see the company in five years? In two years we’ve come such a long way – and 2017 seems like aeons away now – but our main aim is to become the name
