Windows 8 gets a new logo


M


icrosoft is adopting a new logo for Windows 8 and saying goodbye to the ‘flag’ icon that has been used since Windows 3.1. Te new graphic


depicts an angled window and harks back to the original logo design for the system as well as reflecting the new Metro interface design.


It’s also emerged that the system is to be shipped with a UK version of English as a display language option. Tis means that all user interface components will be in UK English. As well as the boxed copies shipping in this form, vendors will be able to image PCs with UK English in advance. UK English is also commonly used in countries like Australia, India, Ireland, and South Africa.


Users will also be able to install multiple display languages and switch between them.
