Cathi returns to Computer 2000 in Public Sector role C

omputer 2000 has announced the appointment of Cathi Low as Director, Public Sector, as the company gears up to launch a major drive into the education, healthcare and government sectors.
Low has rejoined the company after spending more than five years working at Ingram Micro UK where she most recently held the position of Director, Value Business. She previously spent a total of 12 years at Computer 2000 and Tech Data Europe, in a number of senior positions.
Commenting on her appointment, Peter Hubbard, Managing Director UK and Ireland for Computer 2000, stated: ‘We’re delighted to be welcoming Cathi back to the company. With her proven capabilities and long experience of working in senior sales roles in distribution, Cathi is ideally-placed to lead our plan to build a significant and strategic public sector practice within Computer 2000. We are already working with a number of resellers on specific opportunities and there are more in the pipeline, so it’s great to have Cathi coming on board at this time.’
London NHS trusts join forces in £400m collaboration

group of nine London NHS trusts have put out a collaborative tender for a patient administration system (PAS), electronic
patient record (EPR) system, clinical portal and hosting services. Te contract will last four years and it is thought to be the largest collaborative procurement for heathcare IT outside the National Programme for IT in the NHS. Suppliers will be expected to detail how they will provide software licensing and maintenance, software and technical support and transition and deployment services. Te procurement project is being led by St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust.

Over the next few weeks, Computer 2000 expects to announce a number of initiatives that will provide a specific focus and support on public sector markets. Low will be working with all of Computer 2000’s Collection of Specialist businesses to ensure that resellers have access to the full range of the company’s expertise and capabilities. She will also work with key vendor partners to develop public sector campaigns and provide resellers with focused sales support.
