A majority of association and government meeting professionals (55 percent) reported that less than 5 percent of their members are based outside the United States. Approximately two-thirds (62 percent) of corporate meeting professionals said that their company has office(s) and/or staff located outside of the United States, compared to 19 percent of association/government/independent meeting professionals.
2011 INTERNATIONAL ATTENDEES VS. 2010 INTERNATIONAL ATTENDEES
Fourteen percent (down from 17 percent in last year’s survey) reported that the number of international attendees at their largest 2011 meeting increased, while 77 percent report no change.
Twenty-three percent of respondents reported that more than 10 percent of the registered attendees at their largest event in 2011 were international. On average, seven percent of the registered attendees at respondents’ largest event were international.
