Magical Merlin has built-in Monogram Maestro T

he arrival of the Merlin Pro single head machine early in 2011, introduced the

embroidery industry to a professional machine that included powerful features at an affordable price. The inclusion of both 4-head and 6- head machines within the range ensures that the Merlin Pro suite of machines is now a force to be reckoned with. One excellent feature of the Merlin Pro range is its built in Monogram Maestro software package.

term ʻMonogrammingʼ to most people would mean stitching out lettering as a means of personalising a garment. This may be with an individualʼs name or with that of a club/society etc, that may be combined with an existing logo. Traditionally, any monogramming capability that even existed on an embroidery machine was usually very limited, with only a small selection of fonts at specific heights using a limited number of inputs (arc, line etc) being available. The arrival of touch screen technology has meant this is no longer the case. Machines such as the Merlin Pro range, not only include software to control the machine, selecting frames, stitching speeds etc

but also include very sophisticated monogramming software. The Monogram Maestro software that is fully loaded on each machine includes over 55 fonts which can be accessed via a virtual keyboard. In addition to simply typing out the lettering you require it is also possible to select one of the numerous pre- loaded ʻmonogramsʼ and then apply the letters you require. Alternatively, load in one of your own logos or choose one from the library of 120+ designs and add the text you require. The height, colour and position of the text can be adjusted; it is even possible to change the stitching order of a design. The touch screen ensures it is easy to ʻset-upʼ a design and envisage how the end result will appear when stitched.

The Monogram Maestro software is written and developed in the UK by GS UKʼs sister company CadCam Technology.

Having complete control over the development of the machines and software ensures that future trends and technological advancements can be catered for. ■ For more information on the Merlin Pro industrial embroidery machines email sales@gs-uk.com or call 0115 8448000.

A buoyant start to 2012 for trend-setting YES Ltd I

tʼs a positive start to the New Year for YES Ltd as they expand into 2012 with increased staff and new products. As the company enters its 17th year it has developed into a well-respected business that is setting trends rather than simply following them.

The company has driven the SWF brand forward in the embroidery market as well as, with DTG, developing itself as a major influence in the direct to garment printing industry applying the same commitment to service and support that formed the original ethos of the company. They have always ensured that their knowledge matched the service they wanted to offer. As Roy Burton (MD of YES Ltd) said: “You can have the best product in the world but if you donʼt know how it works you canʼt support it. We make sure that we are never in that position”. Offering such a diverse range of products means that YES Ltd must maintain equal support for all products. That is why they have recruited a further four members of staff in various product areas covering both sales and support. Roy said: “Our customers are our most important asset and it is imperative that they get the best service we can give them.

“When they buy from us they are investing in their future and it is only right that we should do the same by investing in ours. We are well known for supplying advanced technical solutions, whether that be for embroidery or print, and we must offer the same advanced support.” He continued: “This latest expansion puts us, and our customers, firmly in the driving seat which is exactly where you need to be when facing a difficult market place.

“With what I believe to be the largest in-house support team in the direct garment decoration industries we are in a very good position to support our clients. “Things are far from easy but we believe in investing in our future and that of our customers.” With a positive attitude such as this the team at YES Ltd are looking towards a bright future for their customers as well as themselves. ■ For more information call 01623 863343, email sales@yesltyd.co.uk or visit www.yesltd.co.uk
