FDM is easy to wear and perfect for embroidery H

oodies are now an 'everyday' item but it's vital that the detail, construction and fabric used is durable and hard wearing. That's where FDM score. The whole FDM range is produced in-house and to a very high standard.

Their range of comfortable, high performance hoodies are ideal for virtually 'all conditions' activity. FDM currently make five styles for men, women and children and have managed to incorporate fashion and practicality: easy to wear, easy to care-for and perfect for printing or embroidery.

The initial FDM product range will be launched in the UK at Printwear & Promotion Live in Birmingham this month (February 26-28, Hall 12, NEC Birmingham).

Designed for the corporate market, the cornerstones of the FDM philosophy are a consistent colour palette, reliable size references, good availability and distribution and competitive prices. The hoodies are produced 100% in- house, enabling FDM to concentrate on the aesthetics of the design, from chunky

drawcords, right through to the stitching and finishing.

Research played a big part in the early development of the FDM range, in order to maintain a stylish edge, every aspect of the design and distribution process has been carefully considered and thought-out. Customer feedback will undoubtedly dictate the future direction of the FDM brand with new products in the pipeline later this year.

In addition to the regular products, Fundamental Apparel will also be providing a design service, from their UK based office, creating individual styles and designs to the customerʼs own brief and specification.

From concept creation and design, colour forecasting and accessory assistance, through sample development and then into production, the design team will ensure customers receive the best possible design facility from concept to final product. All orders will be produced by the group company, Lucky Knits Ltd. ■ For more information call 0161- 8333655, email info@fdmcorporate.com or visit www.fdmcorporate.com

A new urban wear look with a feminine touch F

ruit of the Loom has launched the new Lady-Fit Hooded Sweat to further strengthen its popular Hooded Sweats collection.

Comments Joanne Lewis, marketing manager: “The Fruit of the Loom label is widely recognised within the urbanwear sector, where our Hooded Sweats, in particular, are regarded as authentic designs at value for money prices.”

For 2012, the Hooded Sweats collection has grown to eight product lines (six adults and two childrenʼs) with the addition of the new Lady-Fit Hooded Sweat. Made from the same cotton-rich 80% cotton/20% polyester fabric (280 gm/m2) as the hugely popular Menʼs Hooded Sweat, the new design features a double fabric hood with self-coloured draw cord, front pouch pocket, and cotton/Lycra waist and cuff rib. Shaped side seams create a feminine silhouette, while the use of quality-assured Belcoro yarn gives the garment a softer feel and results in a cleaner printing process. All of the Fruit of the Loom Hooded Sweats use fabrics made from blends of cotton and polyester fibres that are knitted together with only the cotton yarn on the face of the fabric. This creates unbeatable pilling

performance and further enhances the fabricʼs print surface.

The new Lady-Fit Hooded Sweat is available in six colours – black, deep navy, fuchsia, heather grey, kelly

The new Lady-Fit Hooded Sweat joins the established Lady-Fit Hooded Sweat Jacket – a zip-through style, in four colours, that is notable for its range of fashionable finishing features. These include a self- coloured herringbone draw cord to the double-layer hood, deep self-fabric cuffs and waistband, and contemporary self-colour zip with removable branded zip-puller. The zip is also covered for enhanced printability across the front of the garment.

green, and white – in sizes ranging from XS (8) – XXL (18).

“Our latest Hooded Sweat fills an important gap in our product range. It will allow our customers to add a fashionable, over-the-head womenʼs hoodie to the Menʼs and Kidsʼ products they already supply to their music merchandise, streetwear label, and urban dance group clients,” says Joanne Lewis.

Both Lady-Fit styles have complementary Menʼs and Kidsʼ garments: the aforementioned Menʼs Hooded Sweat (in 17 colours) and the Hooded Sweat Jacket (in nine colours); and the Kidsʼ Hooded Sweat (in nine colours) and the Hooded Sweat Jacket (in six colours). The two kidsʼ styles are both now available in deep navy and the Hooded Sweat also now comes in pink. Urbanwear customers can also choose from the Baseball Hooded Sweat, which features retro-sports style contrast colour sleeves, (in two contrast colourways), and the Heavy Hooded Sweat, which is made from super heavyweight (340 gm/m2) 70% cotton/30% polyester fabric (in three colours). ■ For more information call 01952 682900, email
