products | Machinery and equipment joining Branson’s dCX goes global
Emerson group subsidiary Branson Ultrasonics has launched a new line of ultrasonic welding power supplies for automated assembly systems, its first global line for this market sector. The DCX family of Digital
Power Supply products are said to provide a smaller footprint, more flexible mounting, a wider range of industrial control options, and improved diagnostic and data collection compared to the company’s previous power supplies. The new units incorporate what the company claims is the first closed loop amplitude control function. This also allows amplitude to be increased or decreased during the welding cycle. US process control company RjG says it has redesigned the user interface on its eDART process control and monitoring system. The new touch screen
control system features a simplified interface layout and more straight forward graphical analysis tools. The modifications are said to shorten the learning curve for new users. ❙

materiaLs handLing Conair doubles up its FLX system
Conair’s entry-level FLX material handling system control is now available in a larger configuration capable of handling systems twice the size of the original – up to 64 loaders and as many as 20 vacuum conveying pumps. The system is designed to be both afford-
able and easy to install, allowing users to start with as few as eight loaders and two pumps and to expand as circumstances require simply by adding more control cards. The FLX system uses a PLC controller with
a touch screen interface that clearly indicates the status of all connected devices. It includes a range of high level features, including multi source and multi destination loading, ratio loading, reverse conveying for regrind recovery and fill sensing.

size reduction unit that first slices solid plastics purgings into manageable pieces, then automatically reduces those slices to high quality regrind suitable for reprocessing. A key benefit of the two stage approach is energy efficiency – the system uses just 7.5kW on average.
The PRS unit is said to be
especially useful for moulders making multiple colour changes per shift. ❙
