KraussMaffei Stand 12 C16 Packaging is also the theme for KraussMaffei, which will be demonstrating production of injection moulded yoghurt pot closures using a cX 110-380 classix machine. the company says that the full hydraulic two
platen cX machines are particularly well suited to the indian packaging market, which is characterised by high technical demands but limited investment funds. A particular attraction is the large platen area, which
allows large multi-cavity moulds to be accommodated. Packaging users also benefit from the additional ejector pump, which allows parallel operation of ejectors or cores with mould movement, and the additional part removal options provided by the cantilever clamp design. ❙

Netstal Stand 12A C5 netstal focuses its display on packaging, too, but it has opted for a highly productive manufacturing in-mould label (iMl) system based around an all- electric elion machine design. the 175 tonne elion 1750 machine will
be producing thin wall PS drinking cups on a four-cavity mould built by Glaroform in Switzerland. the machine will be running a cycle of less than 3.3s. the production system is equipped with
an iMl and part removal system by Beck Automation of Switzerland while material feeding and temperature regulation peripherals are supplied by Motan of Germany and eF-cooling of Switzerland.

Wittmann Battenfeld Stand 12 7C wittmann Battenfeld, which claims to be india’s plastics automation leader through its local subsidiary in
chennai, will demonstrate a complete production cell for insert moulding of bottle openers. the cell was configured by the chennai subsidiary and includes a wittmann Battenfeld ecoPower mould- ing machine with wittmann w818 servo robot and insert automation. A material dryer is also integrated in the machine, as well as a mould temperature controller. the process involves inserting the metallic parts

into the mould, overmoulding, removing the finished part from the mould and placing it on a conveyor. total cycle time is 30s. Features of the ecoPower machine include a
compact injection unit and a highly efficient direct drive with energy recovery (braking energy is recovered and used in the barrel heating system). the company will also use the show to launch the
latest version of its dryMax Aton wheel dryer. the F120 provides 120 m³/h of dry air capacity and is said to deliv- er dewpoints of -40 °c to -65 °c regardless of ambient conditions (including monsoons). the wittmann Group display at the Plastindia fair will also include a dryMax central dryer with energy saving frequency converter, Minor 2 screen- less granulator, the gravimetric blender Gravimax B14, and a range of tempro high performance temperature controllers. ❙
