MAGregionsandclubsMAGregionsMAGregionsandclubsMAGregions North Devon MAG urge better bike parking

After a long battle against petitions, planners and clearing every hurdle associated with new businesses, the Filling Station Cafe in Keswick, opened on December the 3rd. MAG member and owner Keiron Graham has offered Cumbria MAG a section on his noticeboard and is willing to have copies of The Road available for customers to read. Keiron is also offering the use of the Cafe for MAG meetings so hopefully another new group may be started.

This is the first Retro biker-themed family-friendly cafe diner in Cumbria and is just off the A66. All the details including menus are on the cafes’s Facebook page ‘The Filling Station Cafe’ The official opening was conducted by MAG Chairman Paul Turner.

Members of North Devon MAG had a meeting with Brian Greenslade of North Devon District Council to talk about local motorcycling issues. The discussions focussed on the inconsistency of parking charges an the prospects for increasing motorcycle parking. The idea of utilising those irregular shaped areas in car parks that cannot accommodate cars for further motorcycle parking was raised.

Further discussion was had about how the council could help with raising funding for further training for riders in the area using schemes like the RoSPA Advanced Riders courses. The MAG delegation came away feeling very positive and North Devon MAG are looking forward to liaising more with Mr Greenslade.
