Wycombe MAG Raises £3,250 for MAG UK, The Air Ambulance Trust & Help for Heroes

MAG members gathered to present a cheque for £1,500 to MAG UK and were very pleased to see Paddy Tyson, who came along to accept the funds on MAG’s behalf.

Also at the meeting a cheque for £1,500 was presented to the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust. Mr Pat Conafray, Head of Fundraising for the charity, accepted the cheque from the group. Pat thanked the group and said the group should be proud as the money raised is actively saving lives.

For the first time this year

Wycombe MAG made a donation of £250 to Help for Heroes. This was given as a

thank you from the group to Stuart Macintosh a local farmer who donates his land free for Wycombe MAG’s ‘Chinnor Bike Dayz’ event every year, enabling them to hold the event. Stuart was at the meeting and received the cheque to present to the charity.

The money given has been raised over the last year by the members of Wycombe MAG by producing and selling merchandise on the Wycombe MAG stand and by holding the ‘Dirty Donkey’ event in April and the ‘Chinnor Bike Dayz’ event in July.

Russell Cort, Deputy Rep of

Wycombe MAG and 2011 organiser of ‘Chinnor Bike Dayz’

Paddy Tyson receiving the cheque from Wycombe MAG

said, “A big thank you to everyone in Wycombe MAG who worked tirelessly all year to raise this money. Thanks also to individuals and suppliers who gave their services or time free of charge.

“Last but not least Wycombe

MAG wish to thank everyone who supported their events and gave money to these three very worthy causes.

They are hoping and planning to have another successful year in 2012 and aim to further increase the funds raised.”

Southern MAG going strong

Winchester and Southampton AGMs

The ROAD still gets sent flyers for events that will have happened before the

following issue is published

A year on and Winchester MAG has remained firmly on the map. Their AGM was overseen by the Regional Rep and supported by observers from Southampton and Basingstoke. Their AGM this year was tinged with a bit of sadness as Jim Dyson, their rep, has stepped aside to concentrate his efforts for Southern Region as Dealer Liaison. Winchester MAG appreciate all the hard work Jim has put in setting up the group and over the past year. Shelly Easterby was voted in as their new Rep, Andy will be Dep Rep, Jim will double up his regional Dealer Liaison with being the group’s Dealer Liaison too while Mark has remained as Treasurer and IT Guru. As the group is still small all the other positions will be managed by the committee and hopefully as the club grows the positions will be filled. The group handed a cheque to the Regional Rep for £150 for the

fighting fund. So well done all round and many more good years to come.

Southampton MAG

In spite of a rare bout of October rain there was a good turnout when Southampton MAG had their AGM on the 5th of October. It was nice to see a good mix of old and new faces there. Jez Ceaser was voted in as their Rep. They have had a hectic year

supporting a lot of events and other groups across the region. Pete Stubbs, their previous rep made the reluctant choice to step down due to ill health part way through the year. We all wish him a speedy recovery. He has remained a part of the group. They continue their fight for sanity on the Itchen Toll Bridge and have more events planned for 2012. Well done to everyone in the group.
