Harley-Davidson’s fly-ride options may not be the cheapest of all avenues to explore but they are spreading their service wider across the globe as their dealer network continues to expand. There are now dealerships across the Middle East in Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus, Jordon, Egypt, and Morocco. The Tel Aviv dealership has informed The ROAD that they are happy to offer group deals to MAG members so if at least ten members are interested (the maximum for a group is 15) you will get discounted rates. Motorrail
If you ere thinking of shipping your bike down to southern Europe by rail in the winter the
news doesn’t look great. Unfortunately there aren’t many services in winter that are practical for bikers, the trains tend to go to ski destinations. The obvious train service, Calais to Nice, doesn’t start until May. Others start in Germany so you would have to ride through northern Europe to get to say Dusseldorf, which kind of defeats the object of not freezing yourself half to death.
Ferries
These sail from Portsmouth or Plymouth for Bilbao or Santander in Northern Spain once a week on each route. Sailing from the UK are overnight. Two people on one bike with an outside cabin will set you back from £172/person for the return trip.
