At the Gate Sather Gate is Cal’s iconic campus hub. Originally the Telegraph Avenue entrance to the university, the ornate gate has served as a gather- ing place on campus since it was completed in 1910.


Oski FAMOUS ALUMNI


The always-smiling and playful Cal mascot is Oski, the bear with the large, gold sweater. He made his fi rst appearance in 1941 and took his name from a popular cheer of the time, “Oski-Wow-Wow.”
