Trips are open to all ages unless otherwise noted. A responsible adult must accompany all children under the age of 16.


Nonresidents may register at the resident price if openings are available in a day trip one week prior to either the trip registration deadline or the date of the trip (whichever occurs first) on a first-come, first-serve basis.


Shipshewana Flea Market and “Das Dutchman Essenhaus”


Activity level 3 If hunting for treasures through thousands of flea market vendors sounds like heaven to you, then the Shipshewana Flea Market is the place to be. Then cross the street to the Trading Place Antique Gallery or walk a short distance to a variety of downtown shops. Lunch is on your own. Dinner is included at Das Dutchman Essenhaus. The family-style fare includes chicken and roast beef with all the trimmings. A variety of homemade pies are served for dessert. Deadline to register is September 9. Age:

Activity level 2 Parke County Indiana is known as "The Covered Bridge Capital of the World.” Visit the annual Covered Bridge Festival for a day of history, site-seeing, shopping and eating. Browse and shop under the Big Tent and the streets that surround the Parke County courthouse. The town square provides antiques, art gallery, a five and dime store and much more. Lunch on our first stop is on-your- own at one of over 20 food kiosks with everything from soups to desserts. As we continue, our step on guide will take us to view and visit the southern part of the county where we will see covered bridges and the Bridgeton Mill along the way. Depart for the community of Tangier in the northern part of the county where we will dine on the famous “Buried Beef “(plain or Barbeque) served with side dishes drink and dessert before heading home.
