Beekeeping is making a comeback! As we learn more about the challenges facing bees and our dependence on their pollination services, more and more people are taking up backyard beekeeping. During this informal discussion, Marge Trocki will share the lessons she has learned as she grew her beekeeping pastime from one hobby hive to fourteen hives with over 900,000 honeybees! Learn the ins and outs of Midwestern prescribed burning! Prescribed burning is an important land management tool that keeps invasive plants at bay. Join Elliot Medina as he discusses the importance of prescription burns to our natural areas and how native plants and animals have evolved to cope with and even thrive after fire.
