Through PowerPoint presentation and interactive discussion, the presentation will focus on what to do in the garden from September through February including steps involved in preparing a new garden bed, planting trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs, the use of native plants, soil testing, pruning, Fall cleanup, composting, mulching, watering and protecting plants for the winter months. Convert a plain pumpkin into a unique Fall floral piece; learn to design a Thanksgiving cornucopia for a special centerpiece for holiday dinner and discover how to decorate a silk floral wreath for your holiday door. Each class will discuss design strategies and the use of flowers, plants materials and fabricated materials for a long-lasting floral design.
