YOUTH PROGRAMS Nature Neighbors


What animals, insects, and plants share your neighborhood? Meet the ones that live in Lyman Woods! Join us for this always popular program especially designed to introduce young children to nature and science. We will watch the seasons change and discover a new nature theme each week to learn what makes nature so special. Each week we will explore nature through stories, hikes, outdoor exploration and fun crafts! Dress for the weather and to get messy. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors. Each session will explore different nature themes, so register for both! Age:

Coyote Club


Too old for Nature Neighbors? Join Coyote Club! This afterschool program picks up where Nature Neighbors leaves off. Young explorers will dig deeper into nature and science all while exploring the woods, prairies and wetlands of Lyman Woods. Coyote Club offers children the benefit of much needed and very valuable time spent exploring the outdoors after a long day at school. Coyote Club will introduce and reinforce age-appropriate nature and science concepts through outdoor exploration and hands-on discovery. Dress for the weather and to get messy. Class will begin with an afterschool snack. Each session will explore different topics, so register for both! Age:

Our Merit Badge Counselors will guide you through the badge requirements and you’ll learn everything you need to know to earn your badge using Lyman Woods as your study site. Predator and Prey


Who’s hunting? Who’s hiding? Animals are in a constant struggle for survival. Discover the unique characteristics that help predators hunt and help keep prey from becoming dinner! Search the trails for predators on the prowl and prey hiding in the brush. After the hike, learn about Lyman Woods’ biggest bird of prey as you dissect an owl pellet! Age:
