above The award winning Afton Panthers Urbanathlon 2011

Looking for a different kind of challenge this year - and the chance to run alongside TV’s TotalWipeout winner? Look no further! The Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland Urbanathlon is back for 2011! Fresh from victory on TV’s Total Wipeout, winner Roy “Rob Roy” Davidson will take on one of the two Urbanathlon fun runs in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Roy said: “Heart and stroke illness has affected several members of my family and I know the devastating effects they can have first hand. Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland supports people living with these conditions and also funds groundbreaking medical research. For just £40 in sponsorship you and your mates can tackle a totally unique course whilst having the most fun you have had in a long time, and to top it all you’ll be raising money for a great cause!”

Urbanathlon participants tackle a series of imaginative and entertaining obstacles along a 7k route in an urban environment. Competitors run, slip, slide, dangle, crawl - and laugh - their way through the course which takes in some of the best terrain and inspiring scenery both cities have to offer.
