After over 50 Try-Athletes signed up for the WobblyWilliams girls team at the Ignis Asset ManagementWomen’s 10k in May, the team are now looking for new recruits to help them build the Glasgow 150 for the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run in September 2011.


Dressed in theirWobblyWilliams running vests, the Glasgow 150 will raise awareness of Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological disorders and raise £15,000 towards a cure. The money will go to FundingNeuro which funds research focused on delivering cures for the conditions including tumours, MS and Alzheimer’s to exactly where there are required.


As part of the Glasgow 150, you will get a free vest or t-shirt and be asked to raise a minimum of £100. To join the team e-mail 150@try-athletes.com.


Green Belter


Rat Race Adventure Sports takes to the hills on Saturday 16 July with this brand new adventure race that takes place at Stirlingshire’s Carron Valley Forest Park. Expect 10k of running, 25k of off-road biking, 1k of kayaking and the trademark “Green Machine” obstacle course as par for the course at this challenge.


It’s open to solos, pairs and relay teams and costs £45 per head to take part. Carron Valley’s mix of awesome single-track, a beautiful waterside setting and easy access from central belt locations makes this a belter

Be part of the Loch Ness running legend!


Join the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Baxters LochNess Marathon, one of the UK’s most scenic marathons.


Places are now available in the 2011 marathon for charity and club runners. There are six nominated charities – Alzheimer Scotland, Breast Cancer Care, Erskine, Highland Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Cancer Care – and over 35 other associated national and Scottish charities to choose from.


For runners preferring a shorter distance, entries are also open for the Baxters River Ness 10k (which incorporates the HSBC 10k Corporate Challenge) and the Baxters River Ness 5k Fun Run. Pre-school age children can enter theWeeNessie on the day of the event! Enter the 10k by 1 July to take advantage of reduced ‘early bird’ entry fees.
