While running provides a great cardiovascular work out, adding a Pilates session into your training routine will help to strengthen muscles and improve flexibility, balance and posture - leaving you in better shape to up your performance and reduce your risk of injury.


As Peterhead jogscotland members have been finding out …


The mighty Peterhead jogscotland are always looking for new challenges and ways to keep training fun. From local running events aimed at motivating beginners to group members jetting off to far off lands to take on foreign


marathons, their members are always looking for new ways to up their performance.


And to help members achieve all-round fitness, they have introduced a Peterhead jogscotland Pilates session for their members.


Chairman of Peterhead jogscotland Stephen Bruce said: "We had heard about the benefits of Pilates for joggers and when the chance arose to introduce a weekly session, we thought it was too good an opportunity to miss.”


On average, about 30 Peterhead jogscotties have been attending the weekly Pilates sessions.


Stephen continued: “It’s been great and we’re thrilled that this is something that men have been taking up too. About a third of the class is made up of men, so we’ve had a great response.
