Oman Air Richard Hodges Joining the Muscat-based airline as chief officer of hotels and catering, Richard Hodges brings with him over 30 years of experience in the industry and said: “I am thrilled to be taking on the immense and rewarding challenge of Oman Air when it’s in a phase where its leisure and hospitality sectors are poised for symbiotic growth.”
Abdulrazaq bin Juma Alraisi New chief commercial officer Abdulrazaq bin Juma Alraisi has held many positions with the airline, including country manager for Oman. In his new role, Alraisi will oversee the areas of worldwide sales, holidays, inflight services, cargo and loyalty programmes.
Signature Flight Support Corporation Karl Bowles Along with the opening of its Middle East sales office in Bahrain, Signature Flight Support Corporation has appointed Karl Bowles as its sales manager for the region. Karl joins Signature with 24 years’ aviation experience, most recently, as director of business development, Middle East, for Jet Support Services, Inc. Steve Gulvin, regional vice president sales for Signature’s EMEA region said: “The Middle East is a significant market for us and with Karl and the new sales office, we have extended our ability to assist our clients in utilizing the Signature network wherever they fly.”

Monarch Group Kevin George On the departure of Tim Jeans, Kevin George takes on the role of md of the Monarch Group. Kevin has been with the company for four years, most recently as md of airline operations.
Food Packaging Association Neil Whittall Commercial and contracts director at Huhtamaki, Neil Whittall has succeeded Greg Fitchett of DayMark UK as the Food Packaging Association’s chairman.
Virgin Atlantic Luke Miles Virgin Atlantic has appointed Luke Miles as new head of design. He comes from LG Electronics Europe where he oversea the global design team. Luke previously worked for the airline between 2000 and 2004 when he was key in the creation Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class Suite. He will report to Dee Cooper, director or product and services
Qantas Paul Yankson Overseeing all Qantas operations in the UK, Paul Yankson is now regional gm UK and Ireland. Paul has spent three years as regional gm Central Europe for Qantas, based in Frankfurt. Qantas Group executive commercial Rob Gurney commented: “The role will focus on the strategic development of Qantas in the region through maximising profitable operation, revenue growth, sales and marketing, plus relationship development with key groups, including travel agents, government, media, community, tourism, and airline partners.”
Servair Christian Léger Appointed managing director of the operations division, Christian Léger will be responsible for the daily operational inspection of all Servair’s 17 metropolitan units, and will manage 7,500 employees representing an annual turnover of €600 million. Christian has been with the company since 1981 and is a field expert, with rich management experience in the fields of catering and aircraft cleaning.
Claude Déorestis Claude Déorestis was appointed as Industrial Managing Director and will oversee the definition of industrial plans for all facilities in France and abroad, coordination of the group’s development projects and the optimisation of production and service methods. Most recently he was director of airline catering and airport assistance for Servair’s 12 subsidiaries.
Yann Schilling Taking charge of Servair Solutions, the group subsidiary responsible for the upstream integration of catering services, director Yann Schilling was picked for his expertise in management, catering, negotiation and training to assist airlines. Yann began his career with Servair in 2001.
South African Airways Gary Kershaw Appointed as country manager UK and Ireland, Gary Kershaw will report to Michael Bentele, SAA’s head of Europe. Gary has over 20 years experience and has worked in several operational positions at Gatwick Airport before moving to Heathrow in 1991 to work with Virgin Atlantic. Most recently, Gary worked with Air New Zealand as head of sales – UK & Ireland.
