reduce seat damage. The new ‘super hybrid range’ combines the strength and durability of metals with composite materials to achieve a lightweight yet robust product. Ensuring the trolley is easy to manoeuvre

is key to ensuring maximum sales. With this in mind Sovereign On Line partnered up with Onboardlogistics and their castor alignment system (CAS). They believe the alignment system combined with the ‘Super Hybrid’ trolley design not only gives the operator more control of the trolley but also aids in the reduction of damage to the trains. The trolley has a patented Castor Alignment System (CAS), an integrated braking system designed by OnboardLogistics, which makes them easy to manoeuvre in a confined space and in straight lines with minimal effort. By pressing both pedals together the

castors at the furthest end of the trolley are directionally locked leaving the castors at the operator’s end in swivel mode. This allows the operator to have total control of the trolley and eliminate drifting when the train tilts. By pressing the green pedal all four castors are immediately back into swivel mode and by pressing the red pedal all castors will totally brake. The advantage of the system is that the operator has full control of all four castors from the central pedal system. The new CAS trolley has smaller and more compact castors improving stability by lowering the centre of gravity, which in turn allows for a larger trolley volume giving increased capacity for goods. Health and safety are also improved on many

levels with strain greatly reduced and greater operator control minimising accidents and damage to train interiors.

Securing trolley contents ITW-Envopak, a leader in the world of security sealing solutions, has come up with a new solution called DrawerPak to enhance in-flight security (see photo). The product features individual specially designed sealable drawers, ideal for packing and tracking bonded goods in trolleys. The company claims that DrawerPak could potentially save £250k a year in labour costs as the tamper evident seal eliminates the need to check the trolley contents upon return to bond, providing the seal is intact.

Trolley sales Air-Eltec Luftfahrtelektrik and SkyMax have jointly developed a fully automatic beverage system for the airline trolley. Sky-Tender prepares hot and cold drinks at the press of a button. It is quick and safe for airline crew and can also save costs.
