Industry Update KLM DELTA AIR LINES CELEBRITY CRUISES

European Business

KLM has introduced its a new European Business product from the start of the summer season, replacing KLM Europe Select. The new product provides more seat comfort and space, improved catering, and priority service on departure and arrival. KLM says the new seat provides one-and-a- half-times more room than before, because the middle seat is always left empty and can no longer be reserved. Soon every seat in the 737 fleet will be fitted with a socket to charge electrical appliances. Priority departure and arrival services include premium check-in, extra baggage allowances, access to airport lounges, and priority during boarding and baggage processing. The menu and presentation of meals on board is being completely modernised. KLM’s new menu contains a range of choices depending on the flight and departure time. Four menus will be served every month. Meals will now be served on tableware designed by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, as they are in World Business class. The collection is created in Wanders’ unique style and matches the quality standards of a top restaurant, says the airline. The new product is being introduced on all European flights operated by KLM or KLM cityhopper -- around 500 flights a day to more than 60 destinations. www.klm.com

each passenger gains individual access. The new A330 seat, manufactured by Weber Aircraft LLC, will be 81.7 inches in length and 20.5 inches wide, similar to the flat-bed product currently offered on Delta’s 777 fleet. It will also feature a 120-volt universal power outlet, USB port, personal LED reading lamp and a 15.4 inch personal video monitor with instant access to 250 new and classic movies, premium programming from HBO and Showtime, other television programming, video games and more than 4,000 digital music tracks.
