Enclosure Products Quick custom cases cut development time
Cyntech Components has launched a Quick- Custompackaging service, offering delivery on custom-designed plastic enclosure prototypes within three weeks of agreeing the design. A free 3D graphics rendering service is also available to help customers experiment with final packaging styles in the early stages of product development.
The end-to-end service, which includes a
two-day turnaround for the initial 3D industrial design, can reduce development time. Once prototypes are approved, the first fullymoulded enclosures are available within 25 days and full production
quantities start shipping 35 days later. Enclosures can include pre-formed cut-outs
for switches, connectors and displays. They aremanufactured using ABS, polycarbonate, thermoplastic polyurethane, ormoulded rubber, sometimes combining thesematerials in a co-moulding to two-shot process.
Cyntech director, DaveMellor said:
“Packaging decisions are often left late and cause the final delay in getting products to market. This service removes that bottleneck.”

NewfromSchroff is a complete 4U, nine-slot subrack systembased on the CompactPCI serial specification. The systemtakes advantage of the specification’s high-speed serial bus topology to deliver a data transfer rate of up to 32Gbit/s via PCIe, 10GbE, S-ATA, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 interfaces.
Comprising a subrack, backplane, fan
tray and power supply, the system is particularly suitable for applications in the process, industrial control, defence and
transportation sectors. The shielded 19in aluminiumchassis is 4U
high and has a depth of 275mm. Featuring a perforated top cover and base plate, it is suppliedwith front handles and a set of guide rails for populationwith 3U-high boards.
The nine-slot backplane, which provides
one systemslot and eight peripheral slots, conforms to PICMG CompactPCI-S.0 and can be specified with or without rear I/O.
Cooling is ensured via a 1U hot-swap fan tray under the board cage.
Operating froman input range of 100 to
240V AC, the built-in 300WATX power supply features an IEC AC input socket, mains switch and dedicated fan. The CompactPCI Serial systemalso includes plug-in units for DVD and hard-disk drives, as well as various 3U front panels.

Designed for use in rail, military, aerospace and other harsh environments where equipment will be subject to shock and vibration, Verotec's KM6-HD subrack systemis designed tomeet MIL-STD 167, the US Department of Defence testmethod standard.
Manufactured as standard in 3U, 6U and 9U heights, the
subrack is available in depths of 160, 220 and 400mm and in 42HP half and 84HP full widths. The IEEE 1101.10/11 compliant KM6-HD 19in subrack also features positive guide locking and retention, heavy-duty front and rear tiebar extrusions with two screw fixing, three millimetre thick side plates and rack mounting angles and a conductive finish throughout. KM6-HD meets the requirements of VME64X, VPX, cPCI and similar open architecture specifications.
The 160mmplastic guides are suitable for 1.6mmPCBs and are
retained front and rear with a screw fixing. Themoulded guides incorporate required features for IEEE1101.10 systems including front panel coding, handle pre-location and ESD functionality for both front panel and PCB. For rear transition applications, 80mm guides are also available.
Finally, KM6-HD is compatible with all other KM6 subracks,
enabling a single design tomigrate froma standard subrack into the heavy duty version for different applications.
