Enclosure Products Cool ideas on climate control

Rittal’smodular climate control concept is described as an easy way to add cooling to a Rittal enclosure or to upgrade an existing system. Individual, ready to use climate control choices can be added without the need formounting cut outs simply by replacing the door and choosing the appropriate climate controlmodule.

Features include a standard RTT plus

version with integral condensate evaporation and RiNano coating. Options are also said to be fastmounting and

More sizes,more choice

A further nine sizes have been added to Hammond Electronics’ 1550 family of die-cast aluminiumenclosures, designed to provide robustmechanical protection and good EMC attenuation. With tapped holes andmachine screws used to secure the lid, the enclosures are ideal for use where interior access will be required on a regular basis. They can be supplied with a natural or black epoxy powder coated finish, in two versions: standard and watertight.

Sizes now range from60 by 55 by

26mmto 275 by 175 by 63mm, with standard units sealed to IP54. Watertight versions are supplied with a

separate compressible self-adhesive gasket, which fits between the lid and base to provide dust and water sealing to IP66.

The thin wall aluminiumenclosures boast high impact strength but can also

be drilled and punched to accept cables, switches and indicators as required. All units can be supplied factorymodified withmachining and silk screening to the user’s specification. AutoCAD and PDF dimensioned drawings on-line.

Due to themodular design, purchasers

can choose either 1,800 or 2,000mmheight doors in either 600, 800, or 1,200mmwide. The 1,200mmversion offers left or right handmounting. For cooling power choose either a 1,500 or 2,000Wmodule, available in one of three different voltage options, 230, 115 or 400V.

Customenclosures on rapid lead times

A customdesign enclosure service provided by CamdenBoss enables customers to have enclosures, housings, covers, panels and partsmanufactured to individual specifications without tooling and on short lead times. Enclosures are developed fromflat sheet plastic and aremanufactured using CAD/CAMtechnology to deliver bespoke designs fast.

Flat-sheet plastic technology is ideal for lowtomedium

batch quantities and offers rapid lead times fromone to two weeks for prototyping and three to fourweeks for volume production. It is said to offer cost-effective prototyping prior to volumemoulding aswell as facilitating lowcost and immediate design changes.

The company’s designersworkwith customers tomaximise

the functional, aesthetical and haptical impact of the product. The final design is constructed using CAD/CAMtechnology and the process is designed tominimise design revisions by ensuring components are coordinated fromstart to finish.

The customenclosure service has no tooling charges and

low initial design and set-up costs. It is effective for small batch runs as low as five units, up to volume runs of around 5,000 units.
