GDS Homepage to boast a new look after relaunch
“profashionals” all year round. With this re-launch GDS once again underlines its function as a competent information and trend platform for the international shoe business. Consistent layout plus news and highlights revolving around GDS and the sector presented in an infotainment fashion, even better services as well as compact and easy-to-grasp information for exhibitors and visitors are just some of the key aspects of this re-design. The project was realised in close cooperation with the Düsseldorf agency Karkalis PR.
W Explaining the new online concept GDS Director Kirstin Deutelmoser said:
“Over the past few months we have predominantly focused on re-designing the website investing plenty of energy to be able to respond to visitors’ and exhibitors’ various needs in an even more targeted manner,” and went on to say: “The new homepage is more compact, informative, emotional and dynamic overall. The sector is always “on the move” and this is precisely what the new website reflects.” Through its re-launch the GDS web presence has become a
powerful, year-round informative business platform offering high value added for the sector. Even on the homepage visitors can discover new things at regular intervals. Lifestyle news, coverage, trends and key looks for the next season, up- and-coming labels or news related to GDS or the footwear community are presented in a nutshell in the newly designed, contemporary Newsbox or featured as photo galleries and video clips at the Mediacenter. Intuitive GUIs quickly guide users to the areas of relevance to them. Thanks to shortcuts, exhibitors and visitors can locate information and everything they need to know about the trade show even faster. The new GDS admission management will take immediate effect: Visitors now have the opportunity to register online in the run-up to the trade to secure their complimentary eTickets. One particular new feature is the dynamism of the website. The content

By re-launching its web presence GDS also focuses more strongly on the link between on and offline media. The GDS Magazine already provides buyers with numerous trend and lifestyle information on the website, even in the run-up to the trade show. “Whether it is trend information and the latest news from the sector for
retailers or the many services rendered for exhibitors and visitors – with the new website we show what GDS is all about,” says GDS Director Kirstin Deutelmoser. Furthermore, the new website also provides an opportunity for
interactive exchange with the international shoe community. Via a number of icons users can directly access the most important Social Media platforms where GDS is featured. In addition to Youtube and Flickr visitors can also become GDS-fans on Facebook or follow GDS on Twitter as sectoral events or innovations are featured here. GDS and GLOBAL SHOES are held from 16 to 18 March 2011 as well as
from 7 to 9 September 2011. Approximately 1,190 exhibitors from 41 countries will be showcasing their shoe, bag and accessories collections for the 2011/12 Autumn/Winter season.
