The Global Village is a multi-cultural trend about a bohemian world-traveller aesthetic. As the world becomes smaller, cultures are merging more than ever, and this fashion trend reflects this meshing of cultures and traditions as it borrows from both folksy and ethnic sartorial traditions worldwide. The folksy influence of Russian Babushka look and East European embroideries meets East meets West with Islamic styles.
Boots are the strongest footwear silhouette
for this story. Anna Sui adorns outdoor styles with eastern influenced decoration, presenting suede knee-high boots with traditional Russian folk embroidery, fur trims and tassels. The designers also embraces an East meets

West influence with Islamic style prints tooled onto traditional English Wellington style boots in deepest burgundy for a look that is an eclectic and ethnic fusion of global influences. Wunderkind opt for all over fur boots in natural fawn, with wooden stacked heels, creating an unfinished traditionally handcrafted feel.
Leather detailing also adds a traditional charm to footwear with tassels and lacing being noteworthy details, Christopher Kane opting for calf length lace-ups in black leather. Historical tones infiltrate baroque tapestries on closed-toe high-heels at Just Cavalli as natural fabrics are authentically decorated with rustic appliqué and elaborate embroidery.
The color palette of bold estrucan red, latte

Folklore Boot This calf-height boot is crafted in stucco brown or dark suede which serves as a traditional base for folksy Russian style embroidery in red and gold. Fur trims, particularly at the top of the boot are another authentic Russian touch whilst exaggerated treads add to an outdoorsy feel.
Vintage Mary-Jane In a patchwork of muted complimentary tones of red, latte and stone blue, in a mixture of suede and leather, the vintage Mary-Jane is a rustic take on a classic. To enhance the earthy feel, metalwork should be in an antique-looking brushed bronze whilst a concealed platform adds glamour to the otherwise subtle shape.
Travelling Boot Taking inspiration from a hiking boot lace-up style, in a palette of darkest navy and stone blue, this extreme Nordic boot is a heavy duty fusion of faux fur, silver studs and exaggerated hook and eyelet detailing. A one inch platform adds to the super high, commanding look.
