Joya - The softest shoe in the world!
Tell us about your company history. What’s the story behind the brand? • A comfortable sole was needed, a sole that adapted to any foot shape and which was soft - the new sole generation.
• Joya developer Karl Müller is the son and namesake of the well- known inventor of MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology). As a young child Karl Junior was a test-pilot for his father’s shoe developments. He dreamed of developing his own shoes, which were comfortable and had a great design as well.
Do you have a brand philosophy? • we are a young, innovative company, we see our mission in making customers happy because of our feel good shoe.
What sets Joya footwear apart from the rest? Tell us about the technology? • The softest shoe in the world, adapts to any walking pattern. • Research is important to us and we are proud that Joya is recommended by doctors.
Where are you based and where do you manufacture? • Based Switzerland, picturesque little village Roggwil, in Thurgau (eastern Switzerland).
•Manufactured in South Korea, because it is progressive country with a long history of footwear production (about 30 years!) - pre-existing experience and knowledge can be used.
How many people do you have working for you? Do you have a high turnover of staff? • Sales area Europe: about 50; production: about 450 people. • Over 800 points of sale in 22 countries.

How do you market your ranges? • We have a core range of 20 shoes which can be re-ordered throughout the year. • 3-5 new season items complement collection. • We support independent footwear retailers, because we believe it is important that customers are competently advised.
And, the next step? Any plans for the future, new lines, technologies etc? • Focus on new markets in the UK and USA. • Develop new technology which will be implemented 2013.
