The hire division of WH Bond & Sons, a family business based in Saltash, Cornwall, reports it has continued to increase its fleet, which ranges from woodchippers, welfare units and mobile lighting towers, to excavators, compact dumpers and telehandlers. Recent additions include eight further Takeuchi minis in the 3, 5 and 8 tonne classes, 16 Thwaites dumpers from 1 to 9 tonne, as well as JCB and Manitou telehandlers. The company started as a farming business in 1957, subsequently adding landscaping, civil engineering, recycling and training divisions, and also operates a sawmill activity supplying timber to DIY customers and building professionals. Business Development Manager Andy Pearce says that the company’s broad scope gives extensive hire opportunities to a diverse customer base, and that hire turnover has increased substantially in 2010.
